Film: Limitless (Neil Burger, 2011)

Limitless has its faults, the main one being its pacing in the second half, which pales compared to it's opening hour. It also kind of tapers off, delivering all the hallmarks of a typical "drugs are bad" message without having much of an ending. It feels that the screenwriters didn't know how to finish.

Saying that, Bradley Cooper deserves to be a bigger star than he is. In the staring role, the impossibly suave and good looking actor coasts along on his in built charisma, much in the same way as George Clooney or Cary Grant. He can also act and the material Limitless provides enables Cooper to eat up the lunacy of the plot whilst flashing his charm whenever he can. It's hard not to like him.
