Watching Fast Five was the filmic equivalent of being raped to death with a baseball bat made out of frozen stupid. I don't mind movies being silly so long as they're fun (point of fact: I really enjoyed the hell out of G.I. Joe). However, Fast Five tends to take itself way too seriously at times and for much of it's run-time I was bored to the point of frustrated anger. Only Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson seems to understand the sheer lunacy of the material and plays his role with a knowing wink and a smirk. It's a shame the likes of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker still role along under the pretence of doing serious work.
