Bit more upmarket than the usual dross you'd find in the straight to DVD market, but it doesn't make it any less dull, derivative and flat out boring. The plot is rubbish (girl and younger brother are stuck in house during hurricane whilst hungry tiger is stuck in there with them), made even more so by the fact that it's played deadly straight.
Not overly offensive in terms of its quality, in fact it isn't overly terrible it's just an awful lot of nothing, that strives to be little else than a painfully average and drawn out experience.
This year's The Collector, which had a murdering man in a mask instead of a tiger, was much, much better.
2/5
The more I think about 'The Collector' the more I realise how much I totally dug it.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I'm beginning to think it'll appear on my top ten of the year. It's flawed but it manages to do what it set out to do very, very well.
