The South Park boys can’t be commended for their subtle approach to satire and even though Team America wears its political sensibilities on its sleeve, it still remains very, very funny.
Although many of the jokes fall flat, for the most part it does what it does perfectly well. As a satire on the nature on the American military it’s in your face (in a good way) and as a parody on the Jerry Bruckheimer action output it’s spot on. It also just so happens to peppered with jokes about dicks fucking assholes, excessively long scenes of characters puking, lyrical numbers about AIDS and how much Pearl Harbour sucks and, of course, puppet sex.
I still like it very much. My girlfriends, however, didn’t find it nearly as funny as I did.
