The Emperor's New Groove (Mark Dindal, 2000)
Whilst The Emperor's New Groove has faded into obscurity as a lesser Disney, that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. Arriving toward the end of the Disney renaissance (itself started by masterpieces like Aladdin and Beauty and Beast and killed off by the likes of Pocahontas and Home on the Range), it was one of those Disneys that failed to raise much interest in audiences, which is a shame because the film itself is competent and utterly hilarious, every joke a knowing wink at the camera, making the film something of a self parody to the Disney machine.
It's an underrated gem. It's also the funniest thing David Spade has done in years.
